BOTTLE CAP CODES

Plantiac 1 litre bottles have a code printed on each cap (on the side). In 1991, the cap code could be deciphered as follows (this method has probably been valid until UTO no longer produced Plantiac in 2004):

PDDDYQQ

P = Production line number
DDD = xth day of the year
Y = last digit of the year, e.g. 1991
QQ = xth quarter (15 minutes) of the day

Now that Plantiac is bottled at Boomsma, the code takes up two lines and can be deciphered as follows:

LYYBBBB
DDD HH:MM

L = Always an "L", indicating it is a grocery item
YY = Last two digits of the year
BBBB = Batch number
DDD = xth day of the year
HH:MM = Time of production (hours:minutes)
